Wedding Chicks

Great site! It's a blog about weddings where they post about real weddings, DIY ideas, inspiration and more.
Even when you're not getting married (yet!) it's fun to scroll through this site. They have the most beautiful photos and the cutest DIY tips (you can use those for birthdays or other parties too).

Earlier this year I got a trip to New York as a gift.
To say thank you I baked these.
Mini muffins and a NY-style cheesecake.

a happy Halloween

For Halloween I made this pumpkin cake.
It's a chocolate cake with cherry filling and marzipan on top.
This marzipan tastes strange and doesn't go with chocolate cake... but I wanted to decorate the cake so I just used marzipan to make it look pretty.

the wintery cake pops

Blood, sweat, tears..
Ok, just sweat and nearly tears. Tried to make a caramel sauce for these cake pops, well that didn't work!

I overcooked and burned the caramel over and over again, it got stuck in the pan (my mom's pan!) and turned to brick as soon as I turned the heat off. Never making caramel again!

About making cake pops.. Well I'm just no good at that either!


But they turned out ok (and delicious!) so I made a nice picture to share.
They're chocolate mud cake pops with white chocolate and a bit of cinnamon/amaretto sprinkle.
