macarons again

well, i've made up my mind. i'm never making macarons again.

this is the result of my second attempt... i'm not proud of them :[
they have half 'feet' or no feet at all, the green ones are a bit toasty and instead of nice circles they're more like smudged little blobs.
i can't believe that i probably overmixed the eggs again... it seemed to be the right texture.

this time filled them with vanilla cream cheese, but i think i like them better without filling.

conclusion: my kitchen and supplies are just not good enough to make perfect macarons. maybe some day when i have a huge kitchen, two high class ovens, a KitchenAid, a silicone macaron baking sheet and a super quality piping bag...

patisserie from hell

the ground almonds & pistachios
dear lord macarons are a baker's worst nightmare.
i highly underestimated them. the recipe seemed simple. no strange culinary ingredients, simple steps. what could go wrong, right?

EVERYTHING went wrong.
